Calgary, AB – April 20, 2018 – RGL’s research is considered an integral part of the development of emerging technologies for maximizing recoveries in upstream oil and gas. Results of the Canadian company’s work will be featured at next week’s SPE 2018 Western Regional Meeting.
The RGL team will be presenting the paper entitled “An Experimental Investigation into Gravel Pack Performance in Steam-Drive Operations” in Garden Grove, California on April 24. The paper details how RGL developed a large-scale sand retention testing (SRT) facility to study the performance of openhole gravel packing with straight-cut and RGL-patented seamed slotted liners. The role of different slot profiles on the gravel pack performance was also investigated. The paper was one of 90 selected to present at the conference.
Amongst the approximately 400 industry leaders and experts in attendance will be 2019 SPEI President-Elect Sami Al-Neaim (Manager, Petroleum Engineering Application Services at Saudi Aramco), Todd Stevens (CEO of CRC), Steve Layton (President of E&B), David Slater (Executive VP and COO of Signal Hill Petroleum) and Michael Duginski (President and CEO of Sentinel Peak Resources).
SPE is the largest individual member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the oil and gas industry. The Western Regional Meeting gathers experts, students, and leading researchers to collaborate and share knowledge while celebrating the Western Region’s impact on the industry.
RGL will also be exhibiting throughout the conference April 22 through 26. To view research papers or learn about any of RGL’s sand control initiatives, visit http://www.rglinc.com/resources or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
