Calgary, AB – April 13, 2018 – The program committee of the esteemed SPE Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition (ATCE) has accepted an RGL technical paper on sand control, which will be presented in Dallas, Texas, in late September. The flagship SPE event, which attracts industry professionals from around the world, received a record number of more than 2,500 paper proposals for consideration.
The technical paper entitled “Standalone Sand Control Corrosion and Plugging: Review of Slotted liner, Wire Wrap Screen and Premium Screen Plugging and Corrosion” explores the effects of corrosion and plugging of slotted liners, wire wrapped screens, and premium mesh screens. Using four samples of standalone screens from operating wells, RGL researchers outline how design of the tortuous path based on effective pore size to stop sand production affects the amount of plugging significantly.
