Calgary, AB – November 17, 2017 - A leading international oil and gas company has awarded RGL a contract to engineer, manufacture and trial customized tools in a Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS) application.
RGL was contacted to evaluate and optimize engineering processes related to sucker rod centralizers for CSS applications. The team conducted a full engineering review, with design iterations and validation testing. Once validation testing was complete, RGL presented the solution, produced test pieces, and obtained approval to manufacture the optimized centralization tools, which are scheduled for completion in early December. In addition, RGL’s propriety electroless nickel coating (RGL ENC) will protect the surface of the tools from corrosion, friction, abrasion and scaling.
According to Brent Fermaniuk, this project reflects RGL’s commitment to expand the scope of its core capabilities. “We are proud of our history as the leader in providing sand control solutions to the heavy oil sector, but we are also excited about how we’ve grown our flow control and completions capabilities. This re-engineered centralizer solution is one small example of RGL’s technical capabilities.”
